Albigna wins Marcel Boussac at ParisLongchamp

Albigna bounced back to winning ways with a clear-cut success in the Prix Marcel Boussac.
After winning a maiden and the Group Two Airlie Stud Stakes at the Curragh before the year, jessica Harringtons charge had seemed every inch a top-class filly at the making.
The Niarchos juvenile defeated when fancied for the Moyglare Stud Stakes but was afterwards found to be in time.
This one-mile contest presented Zoffanys girl with a second chance to grab Group One glory – and she responded superbly to her riders urgings, while she was under stress in the palms of Shane Foley before the house turn.
Marieta appeared likely to claim top honours after pulling clear of this field, but she tired on in the testing conditions and 4-1 shot Albigna eventually reeled her in to win with something to spare.
Andre Fabre unbeaten favourite Savarin was well-beaten.
Harrington said:I wasnt really confident beforehand as shes run on good and great to firm ground, so we were moving to the unknown. She revealed the Albigna that is actual we see in your home, although I was not optimistic going into today.
Ive just seen it the once and I thought she was not travelling that great, however Shane said later that she likes to find her feet, which she failed in her first two races.
In the Moyglare she conducted a little free and was proven to be in year afterwards.
Sky Bet reduce Harringtons cost to 14-1 out of.
Harrington stated:Its fantastic to win that race and now I am grateful to the Niarchos family for sending me these beautifully-bred yearlings – after the year we had this past year using Alpha Centauri I did not think I would maybe have a year like that using the two-year-old fillies.
Id imagine so (Guineas filly), she gets the mile nicely and she is a huge filly and Id imagine shed remain further than a mile.
That is really awin and youre in to your Breeders Cup and now I understand it is quite close to the core of Maria (Niarchos), the Breeders Cup, so well discuss that after the dust has settled .
I would say shes probably top of the pecking order (of the stable fillies) since she remained the shuttle so that she seems more like a traditional filly.
