Dallas Mavericks

Vegas Over/Under: 35.5

Fromal’s Record Projection: 36-46 The Bet: Prevent but lean over
To be very frank, I would recommend leaning over no matter where the line is put for the Dallas Mavericks. And that’s for one purpose: Rick Carlisle.
The head coach is a genius in milking talent from his players, routinely turning castoffs and unwanted pieces into quality rotation members. He’s done after year, and 2017-18 should be different.
Except it is different. Because while this team might be rebuilding during the final few seasons of Dirk Nowitzki’s career (assuming the legendary 4 chooses to retire), it finally has distinct talent at quite a few different positions.
Dennis Smith Jr., Seth Curry, Wesley Matthews, Harrison Barnes and Nowitzki makes for a potent starting lineup, along with the Mavs can mix and match to get Yogi Ferrell and Nerlens Noel around the Ground. That is much more talent and upside compared to the group possessed during the 2016-17 effort, and it went 33-49.
Full seasons from the frontcourt pieces? Barnes using a year of experience in a major role under his belt? Smith added as a Rookie of the Year danger to the rotation?
Vegas place the over/under aggressively with this roster, but motives to think they are sold a bit short still exist.
