Japanese GP: Sebastian Vettel false start penalty escape explained

Why Sebastian Vettels start from pole position in the GP was not fulfilled with a penalty, the FIA has clarified.
Vettels hard-earned and impressive pole, attained earlier on Sunday in Suzuka, was compromised when the German rolled forwards in his grid box, before the lights went out at the race.

Even though the car was tilted before the five red lights went outside, Vettel promptly lost the lead to this fast-starting Valtteri Bottas – a position he had recovered, as the Mercedes driver procured a dominant win along with the Ferrari finished some 10 seconds behind in 2nd location.
The beginning of Vettel was researched by stewards during the race deemed no additional action was demanded.

It could have been another race if we could have been first and second into Turn One, however, clearly it was not the case so we do not need to assert [concerning the outcome ], Vettel informed Sky F1. After that, to be honest, it would have been difficult to fight the Mercedes off today since they were only quicker.

Nonetheless, Vettel did keep Hamilton supporting in the final stages regardless of the world winner with more adorable tyres advantage.
