Two of Malawi’s top netballers will boost the squad for the defence of the Vitality Netball Superleague title of manchester Thunder.
Instrumental shooter Joyce Mvula, the 2019 fans’ player of the year across Superleague, will go back to get a year to the Dark and Yellows.
She will be joined by her fellow Malawian, defender Lauren Ngwira, that combines the Superleague champions from London Pulse.
Joyce and were powerful at opposite ends of the court in securing a sixth-placed end and Lauren were part of the Malawi Queens squad to the Netball World Cup at Liverpool this summer.
Thunder’s Manager of Netball Karen Greig said:”I am rather eager to get Joyce back for 2020 and also for her to be joined at the opposite end of courtroom by Lauren.
“Joyce has evolved a lot in her time at Thunder and procuring her shooting abilities for the new period is a enormous increase as we seem to defend our name, particularly since I know her performances are noticed across the netballing planet.
“With our epic guardian Kerry Almond retiring, I had a large gap to fill defence and Lauren was the candidate. She also makes her presence felt court and will be critical to our performances next year.
“I am eager to see Joyce straight back together with us and Lauren join up with the squad, and anticipate getting them on courtroom soon.”
Mvula stated:”Thunder are my loved ones and I am thrilled to return for another season. Winning the Superleague was an remarkable experience to be part of and an achievement. I can not wait to join up with the squad again soon and prepare 2020.”
Ngwira explained:”I couldn’t turn down the opportunity to join the champions! I am very excited to be part of the Thunder family, look forward to playing alongside Joyce and assisting defend the Superleague title.”
