The 25-year old was hit by a motor vehicle at Delray Beach, Florida on Sunday morning and needed to have the bottom half of the right leg amputated. He’s now listed in critical condition at Delray Medical Center based on Blackzillians teammate Rashad Evans.
Bellator released a statement indicating Delray Beach police are searching for info from anyone who might have seen the accident. “Bellator has been informed of a terrible accident that happened last night involving featherweight fighter Jordan Parsons, who was hit by a vehicle in a shout incident,” the statement read. “We’re still in the process of discovering details and with his family’s consent, expect to have an update on his medical state shortly. Our thoughts and prayers are with Jordan and his family as he recovers. The hit-and-run occurred on Lindell Blvd. and South Federal Highway in Delray Beach, Florida. Anyone with information regarding this incident is requested to call the Delray Beach Police Department in -LRB-561-RRB-??243-7800.” Parsons (12-2) has been scheduled to combat Adam Piccolotti at Bellator 154 at San Jose on May 14. It’s likely Piccolotti won’t have a replacement opponent and the bout will be scrapped. I interviewed Parsons a week ahead of the Bellator 154 matchup and that he was excited about the move back up to lightweight.
