The Baltimore Ravens pulled defensive tackle Michael Pierce off the practice field Tuesday due to conditioning issues, and kept him off the field again Wednesday.

Defensive coordinator Don Martindale said he had been disappointed in the form where Pierce revealed up to mandatory minicamp after bypassing previous offseason workouts.
“Obviously you are disappointed,” Martindale said, through Jamison Hensley of ESPN. “What I said , I said it in front of the entire defense: Life is about choices. Just do not make that choice make your life”
Pierce, a restricted free agent, reportedly showed up to minicamp looking well within his listed weight of 340 lbs. After taking Pierce to action facing his teammates, Martindale didn’t wish to include more fuel on Wednesday, presuming the 26-year-old captured the message.
“We piled on enough ,” he explained. “Let’s don’t forget what a fantastic soccer player he is. He will get back there. I can not let you know when, but he’ll get back there.”
An undrafted free agent signing in 2016, Pierce impressed through his first three seasons, also is one of the greatest run-stuffing defensive tackles in the league because a rotational participant. Entering a pivotal period, the Ravens will need Pierce to slim down within the next six weeks leading up to training camp in late July.
