Following a blazing hot July, we began the month of August outside gradually. But very quietly we’re heating up as night we picked up our fourth biggest winner at our last five bets. And last night’s win came on my preferred kind of winner, even an outright money line underdog! Yesterday we stayed hot when we backed that the Minnesota Twins in the street, against the Texas Rangers.
In my estimation, the general gaming public places way too much focus about a game’s starting pitching matchup when evaluating who to bet on. That was the case last night since Lance Lynn, who’s having a solid season for Texas, pushed this amount involving the Rangers, in spite of the fact that Texas had dropped nine from its last eleven matches, also certainly have been a whopping fifteen matches back of the Twins entering play.
I did what I really like to perform, and that’s position myself on the opposite side of the overall gaming public, and backed the far superior team, also picked up some healthful dog money along the way. And in the long run, Martin Perez for Minnesota, actually outpitched Lynn in this particular one. Perez pitched five innings of all two-run chunk , while Lynn pitched five innings and allowed three earned runs.
The Twins jumped out to an early 3-0 lead just to observe that the Rangers battle back and tie up the game late. However, when Jorge Polanco crushed a bases-loaded triple in the very top the eighth inning and cleared the foundations, it put away the game for good for Minnesota. It feels like common senseto bet on the better team, but as they say, ordinary sense ain’t all that common.
If you find more places like this one in which you can snatch up dog cash on a team that’s fifteen games better than their opponent, you want to jump all over it. For today’s selection, we visit Tampa Bay where the Rays sponsor the Mariners.
Even the Seattle Mariners, winners of two straight show, head to Tampa Bay Monday for match among a three-game series together with the Rays. Wins have been hard to come by this year for Seattle since they’ve suffered a number of high impact injuries and traded away nearly everything that was not nailed down at the trade deadline. However they are doing a decent job of battling here from the dog days of summer months and have discovered a way to win four out of their last six games.
For Tampa Bay, they are trying to hang onto the second wild card in the American League as they have a scant game and a half lead on the Oakland Athletics to the last playoff spot in the championship game. Tampa is afflicted by many accidents in their own since their starting rotation is decimated. That hasn’t slowed down them though as they have won eleven from the past fifteen games.
Starting for the Mariners tonight is the ace, Marco Gonzalez (12-10 4.26 ERA) and to get the Rays, it’s Brendan McKay (2-2 5.08 ERA). The game total over-under is placed at eight and a half conducts. The Rays have been all -179 favorites. First pitch is scheduled for 4:10 PM PST in Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg.
The Tampa Bay Rays are attempting to hang and sneak into the play with no much of a starting rotation. Last year’s Cy Young Award winner,” Blake Snell, is out with an injury, however he could be heading back into the team shortly. And the Rays will also be enjoying without Tyler Glasnow, that was looking similar to this year’s Cy Young Award winner prior to heading down with a season-ending accident earlier this season. The Rays have been forced to play without Charlie Morton and Yonny Chirinos occasionally Also.
But even with all those injuries, the Rays have been among the greatest pitching staffs in the majors this year. The Rays are best three in the match in earned run average, batting average against, and WHIP. And that’s while playing in the much more hitter-friendly American League, at a branch with the heavy-hitting New York Yankees and Boston Red Sox. The Rays have a seemingly endless line of fire throwers, and it is next man up every night for Tampa Bay.
One of those men that has stepped around for Tampa Bay was rookie Brendan McKay. McKay has been the number fourth overall draft pick from the 2017 draft and has been on a fast track to the major leagues ever since. With all of the injuries, McKay was introduced to the rotation and instantly showed what he’s capable of as he took his debut start to the sixth inning with a perfect game in tow. He ended this game with six shutout innings, allowing only 1 hit.
Two begins then, he also threw five shutout innings from the Baltimore Orioles. He’s had some mixed results in his other five starts, but to get a guy this youthful and inexperienced it is much more about what he is capable of, rather than what he has actually done. And he’s certainly capable of being a top of the rotation kind of man as he has all the makings of the All-Star at just twenty five years old.
The Seattle Mariners do not really have a stereotypical genius at this point, however Marco Gonzalez has done a decent job of faking it this season for Seattle. Gonzalez has stepped into the huge shoes of King Felix in Seattle and has been the Mariners opening day starter this year. And through April he appeared every bit the role as he was 5-0 with a 2.80 ERA. However things have been downhill since then for the former first-round draft pick.
It is not that Marco was all that bad, he’s been decent, it’s only that the Mariners don’t appear to score runs when he cries. In his three August begins, this Mariners lineup has supplied him with only five runs of service total. That is only within a streak and a half a game. Not King Felix in his prime, will win many games with that sort of run service!
This game will be low scoring. The Mariners are dead last in the majors in runs scored because the trade deadline, and the Rays are not much better as they’re in 23rd. Both these teams simply don’t score a whole lot of runs, and they both have good starters on the mound. Yeah, McKay was inconsistent in his short important league career, however if you are going to have a really great outing, pitching against a Seattle team that has a triple-A lineup right now, will definitely help.
When you look at the Mariner’s bullpen, they have the night off last night, as Yusei Kikuchi threw a whole match, so they need to be rested. The Rays? They got the lowest team ERA at the game from August, along with their bullpen was great. I think that one goes beneath tonight. If not for the solid pitching, because of its shortage of powerful hitting. Feels like 4-1 Tampa Bay should you ask me. Give me the under eight and a half runs tonight in game from Tampa Bay!
